Charged Particle Radiography in High-Energy-Density Laboratory Plasmas January 25–28, 2021
Announcing a virtual workshop on Charged-Particle Radiography in HED Laboratory Plasmas, hosted by the Princeton Center for Theoretical Science from January 25-28, 2021 (see attached flyer). The workshop aims to cover a broad range of experimental, diagnostic, numerical, and theoretical techniques for acquiring and analyzing charged-particle radiographs. Registration is free, required for accessing the January workshop’s Zoom links, and can be found on the January workshop’s webpage along with a preliminary agenda.
DOE soliciting input on using DOE user facilities for research questions that underpin COVID-19 response
Dear Colleagues:
The Department of Energy (DOE) is taking steps to address COVID-19 and is soliciting ideas about how the Department and the National Laboratories might contribute resources for science and technology efforts and collaborations. The Department is encouraging the scientific community and others to consider research questions that underpin COVID-19 response and is requesting input on strategic, priority research directions that may be undertaken using DOE user facilities, computational resources, and enabling infrastructure.
More information is available in a Dear Colleague Letter on the DOE website. The Department looks forward to the responses.
The final report of the APS-DPP Community Planning Process, A Community Plan for Fusion Energy and Discovery Plasma Science, is now available on the DPP-CPP website.
This report represents the output of an open and transparent process, in which input was received from town halls, webinars, hundreds of small group discussions among subject matter experts, dedicated workshops, and focus group discussions. A FESAC subcommittee will now start its process in fulfilling the DOE-issued charge for long-range strategic planning of the field.
